What we do

The Association of Tanzania Researchers (ATARE) was registered in the United Republic of Tanzania under the Societies Act (CAP.337 R.E. 2002) with Registration Number S.A. 23525 of 10th June 2023. ATARE comprises researchers of various professional disciplines in different parts of the United Republic of Tanzania for professional advancement and promotion of multidisciplinary research for sustainable development of communities in Tanzania and beyond.

The Association is a platform that brings together researchers from various disciplines including but not limited to life sciences, social sciences, physical sciences, earth sciences, computer and artificial intelligence.

The objectives of ATARE are to:

  • Promote scientific research by increasing dissemination, sharing of information and knowledge for sustainable development;
  • Proactively establish partnerships for supporting members of the Association in establishing and running various research initiatives
  • Be a basket fund for its members by raising funds and resources to be used for supporting research projects for members of the Association; and
  • To empower young and women emerging researchers through capacity building for them to curb various challenges.
